Reflections of Sufism In the Poetry of Tanveer Abbasi

Abstract

Tanveer Abbasi ( Noor Nabi Abbasi) was a well Known and famous poet of Modern Sindhi Poetry. He was not only well known for his poetry but also he was a great philosopher, a Critic, a Research Scholar also. He played his vital role in the organizing of Sindhi Adabi Sangat. Tanveer Abbasi not only composed his poetry but also he wrote in prose. Travelague ‘Dorey Dorey Daih’ is famous. Tanveer Abbasi was the great expert of Poetry of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai and Sachal Sarmast. He compiled the poetry of two great Sufi Sindhi Poets namely, Sufi Khush Khair Muhammad Heesbani and Nanik Yousuf. In this paper his poetry relating to Sufism is analyzed.
