Abstract

: In this study, acetone, ethanol and water extracts of four parts (root, stem, leaf and fruit) of Solanum surrattenseBurm (Solanaceae) were studied for antimicrobial activity by well diffusion method against three human pathogenic bacterial spp. Klebsielia pneumonia, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The results found the zone of inhibition against K. pneumonia, E. coli and S. aureus between 10±2.00 - 18±2.52, 7±1.15 - 19±1.15 and 6±0.00 - 16±2.00 mm respectively. The results of phytochemical as antioxidant, total flavonoid, Flavonols, reducing power and tannin between the 3.99±0.16 - 12.29±0.05, 0.36±0.01-1.40±0.17, 0.08±0.01-0.88±0.09, 0.41±0.09-2.19±0.13 and 0.15±0.01-0.88±0.01 mg/ml were observed from under study plant.
