Abstract

Present research work focus on the two–dimensional axisymmetric incompressible flow of a Newtonian fluid through Pore– Throat tube. Different model parameters are employed to investigate the influence of inertia and impact of various pore throat ratios on flow structure, pressure differential, stress distribution and friction factor. A time–marching finite element method is used to analyse the numerical solutions through flow structure via streamline distribution, pressure distribution, speed and stress. A time–marching Taylor–Galerkin/Pressure–Correction procedure in semi–implicit form is employed to achieve the steady–state solutions. Predicted numerical results demonstrate Pore–Throat ratio have vital impact on the flow field distribution.
