Abstract

Present research work focus on a flow of Newtonian fluid through periodically constricted tube using a time–marching finite element method. A semi–implicit algorithm, so called, Taylor–Galerken/pressure–correction scheme is employed to seek the steady–state numerical predictions. The effects of inertia and impact of undulation on flow structure and friction factor is investigated. Numerical solutions for Newtonian fluid are compared and close agreement is realised against experimental as well as other numerical results.
