Travelogues of Naqashbandi Scholars of Sindh.

Abstract

Sindh's Literature emanating from Khangahs has also been enriched by travelogues authored by writers of other sects (Silsilas) including Naqasgbindia. Travelogues authored by Naqashbandi Scholars have been reviewed in this article; these scholars include Maulana Mohammad Ishaque Jan Sarhandi, Mohammad Maqbool Ilahi, Dr. Gulam Mustafa Khan, Dr. Hafiz Munir Ahmed, Dr. Mazhar Baqa, Habibur Rehman Gabol, and Tahir Naqashbandi. These Travelogues have been written in a fluent style, Using day to day vernacular indented with Persian and Urdu verses/couplets of choice to render them more readable. These Travelogues are generally recordings of inner feeling, experience, and inspiration on visits to holy places that have rendered them worth mentioning from a literary point of view as well Khanqahi literature also aims at service to humanity. From this viewpoint's also these travelogues stand apart from those of present-day writers, belonging to other schools of thought.
