Urdu Tazkarey and Religious Scholars of 19th Century.

Abstract

Tazkarey is one of the main sources for gathering basic information about literary history. These pieces of information are so important for the researchers. In the 19th Century, there were many religious scholars who had flair for poetry and they played their role to promote the tradition of Urdu poetry. Many of these religious scholars came two light because of the tazkaras of the 19th Century. This article provides information about these religious scholars who have been mentioned in different tazkaras of the 19th Century.
