Abstract

Dr. Tahir Taunsvi is a renowned Pakistani scholar, writer, orator and seasoned academician. His real name is Hafeez-ur-Rehman Tahir He penned sketches; composed poetry and wrote columns as well. He was born in Taunsa on 1st January, 1948. Started his career as a lecturer, he later went on to serve at important positions such as Professor, Dean, Director and then Chairman Boards. Dr. Taunsvi pursued a very active career as a man of letters. His active participation in national as well as international conferences forged very deep and lasting relations between him and other renowned literati, which can be seen in the correspondence between them. The paper takes into account the correspondence that took place between him and other literati including Syed Hussain Barni, Azhar Masood, Azarmi Dukht Safvi, Naseem Ahmed, Anees Ashraf Abdi, Dr. Jaleel Ashraf, Sabir Dutt, Dr. Sabiha Anwer, Zaheer Ghazipuri, Abid Suhail and Ibrahim Muhammad Ibrahim. These letters are brimming with mutual affection, literary discussions as well as information regarding the circumstances of the writers and hence are a great source of research.
