Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

AUTHOR GUIDELINES

ETHICAL GUIDELINES FOR AUTHOR(S)

The Sindh University Jurnal of education (SUJE) publishes original scientific research papers of all areas of Education. Each article should describe its originality and valuable information. The following ethical guidelines are obligatory for all authors. Violation of the following guidelines may result in application of penalties by the editor(s) including but not limited to the suspension or revocation of publishing in this journal. 

Reporting Standards

  • It is the responsibility of author(s) to ensure that the research article contains adequate detail and references to the sources of information in order to allow others to reproduce the results.

  • Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate information of any kind whether in preparation of data, its analysis or representation may be considered an unethical behavior and will be unacceptable.

ORINIGALITY AND PLAGIARISM:

  • It is the responsibility of author(s) to ascertain that s/he has submitted an entirely original work giving due credit, by giving proper citations to the work and words of others wherever they have used.

  • Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is not acceptable. Material must be quoted from the authors previously published work or other sources in quotation marks.

  • As per policy of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC), in case manuscript has been found to have a similarity index of more than 19%, it will either be rejected or may be sent back to authors for necessary corrections.

DECLARATION:

  • Authors will be asked to provide an undertaking/ declaration stating that the manuscript under consideration is solely their original work that is not under consideration for publishing in any other journal or in any other form.

  • Authors can submit their research paper already published in abstracted form, e.g. in the proceedings of an annual meeting, or in a periodical with limited circulation and availability e.g. reports by government agencies or universities.

  • Research papers/manuscripts which are co-authored must be accompanied with an understanding clearly stating that each author has contributed substantially towards the preparation of the article in order to claim right of authorship. 

  • It is also responsibility of the corresponding author to ensure that each author has contributed in the article/manuscript whose names are being included in the authors list and they all agree to the order of authorship. 

AUTHORSHIP OF THE WORK:

  • All the authors will get credit of the research work that have made a notable contribution in the form of concept, design, and data analysis and writing up the manuscript.

  • It is the responsibility of the corresponding author to include names of only those co-authors who have made significant contribution to the research work.

  • It the responsibility of the corresponding author that the co-author should have approved the final version of the paper and agreed to submit for publications.

MULTIPLE, REDUNDANT AND CURRENT PUBLICATION:

  • Author(s) should not submit research articles/manuscripts describing the same research to more than one journal except that it is re-submission or a rejected or withdrawn manuscript.

  • Authors can re-publish previous research paper that has substantially altered or corrected after careful analysis or by adding more data.

  • The authors can submit the secondary publication which must cite the primary references and reflect the same data and interpretation of primary publication but the submission of the same manuscript to more than one journal is unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF SOURCES:

  • A manuscript must always contain proper acknowledgement of the work of authors, including clear citations of the sources of all information quoted or offered, except what is common knowledge.

  • Authors must acknowledge the contributions of the other authors, people, organizations, institutes and the companies who have assisted in the process of research in the form of financial help or by providing data.

  • Author(s) must conduct a literature review and properly cite the original publication that describe(s) closely related work.

PRIVACY OF PARTICIPANTS:

  • Authors must take care of the privacy of the participants of research and must not use any information obtained from them without prior information.

  • Authors must share the information in their manuscripts that is very important for the understanding of the presented research.

  • Authors must ensure that if the identification of the participants will be revealed for study then the explicit consent from the participants must be obtained.

  • Consent must be obtained from the family if the participant is not available or he is dead.

DATA ACCESS AND RETENTION:

  • For the accuracy or validity of research work during review process the authors should provide the raw data to the editor.

IMAGES:

  • The author(s) should ensure that images included in the research article or in the data collection as part of the research are free from manipulations.

  • The author(s) must ensure if images taken from other articles contain proper citations and in case from WebPages must show the date of access.

  • Authors must provide an accurate description of how the images were generated and produced

DISCLOSURE AND CONFLICTS OF INTEREST:

  • All the competing financial, personal, social or other interest of all authors that might be affected by publishing the research article is conveyed to the editor.

  • Authors should disclose any potential conflict of interest at the earliest possible stage to the editor. Such interest may not be limited to employment, consultancies, honoraria, patent applications/registrations, grants or other funding.

  • All sources of financial support for the project should also be disclosed alongside a brief overview of the role played if any. 

MANUSCRIPT ACCEPTANCE AND REJECTION:

  • The review period can be between 1-3 months or longer and during this period the author has right to ask about the status of his/her manuscript.

  • Once the review process has been completed then the corresponding author will be informed about the status of the manuscript which could either be an acceptance, rejection or made revision.

  • In case of rejection the author reserves the right to publish the manuscript in any other journal of his/her choice.

  • In case of revisions, the author must provide an exposition of all corrections made in the manuscript and the revised manuscript will, then go through the process of affirmation of revisions and be accepted or rejected accordingly.

  • In case of dissatisfaction over the decision of rejection, author can appeal the decision by contacting the editor.
