Abstract

The infrared absorptions have been recorded of B unsaturated 1,3-diaryl propenone which typify all the planar conformation. Each compound has its distinct characteristic values for frequency range frequency separation and the intensities in terms of vC=O and vC=C The vibrations dala of aß unsaturated ketones are best treated as out of phase and in phase coupled modes respectively.
