PLANKTONIC CYANOPHYCEAE (OSCILLATORIACEAE) IN FISH PONDS OF LOWER SINDH

Abstract

The present paper provides an information about 17 phytoplankton algal sheathed species belonging to genraPhormidium and Lyngbya family Oscillatoriaceae collected in fish ponds of lower Sindh Pakistan. The examination of morphological and taxonomical characters were conducted on living and formalin preserved samples, the aim has been to obtain as many data as possible to increase our knowledge about fresh water algal flora of Sindh province. The paper is based on original material from these ponds.
