VARIETAL DIFFERENCES IN THE INCIDENCE OF INSECT PESTS ON SESAME CROP
Abstract
Studies on the relative resistance susceptibility of three sesame varieties against showed that sesame leaf roller, the white fly and the red pumpkin beetle were the important pests. The populations of these in case of leaf roller which suggest the occurrence of overlapping generations on this crop. The populations of these three pests were low on S-17 variety, P-18 had moderate infestation and PR-14-2, and PR-19-9 had the maximum populations and were the most susceptible ones.
