Abstract

Gravitational force (g-force) is a ratio of acceleration and gravity, which affects the high speed moving objects such as bullet train and high speed cars etc. Its analysis plays a vital role in a variety of engineering and scientific fields, such as astrophysics, planetary science, rocket science, and also in the engineering of several machines (e.g. race cars, fighter jets, and large engines, etc). This paper presents our experience of the design and implementation of a black box that facilitates the logging of a vehicle’s g-force in a memory-chip, and later on these logged results can be retrieved from it for subsequent analysis process. To achieve these goals, 3D accelerometers along with an EEPROM memory are used. This paper also presents various important technical as well as software implementation aspects related to the g-force applications.
