Terrorism in Pakistan Causes, Effects and Controlling Stratagem

Abstract

Terrorism is a complex phenomenon that has engulfed Pakistan in the wake of war on terror after 9/11. The statistics provided by the South Asian Terrorism Portal reveal the current scenario of terrorism in the country. The terror attack and encounters are norms of the day. This paper analyzes terrorist activities in the context of operational definition of terrorism beside combination of factors engendering appalling and frightful state of affairs has been thoroughly investigated. Dialogue, development, deterrence and national consensus have been emphasized as the new paradigm to combat terrorism in Pakistan.
