Abstract

Adoption of new technologies is expensive for existing systems; cell sectorization is traditional way to increase its capacity, where system capacity and sector order have linear tradeoff. Moving to higher order (3, 4, 6) to achieve higher capacity brings up the problem of beam boosting. Thus, introduces interference and negatively impacts on system throughput. This work is focused on the analysis of systems with different number sector antennas and suggests the best selection for the optimum performance. Proposed work illustrates and quantifies the specific benefits of the sector antennas in terms of coverage, system capacity, signal quality, and system cost.
